Another year is upon us ~
Am I the only one who feels like 2018 went by in the blink of an eye?
As I sit down to reflect; the Christmas decorations are packed up, my thank you notes have been written and mailed and I am slowly finding places to stash all the girls' new toys. I always find it a little sad to take down the Christmas tree, but kind of refreshing for a new start too. It's a strange juxtaposition.

2018 had a lot of happy moments for my family, some big changes and a little tragedy. I imagine many of you had similar experiences.
I've never been much of a resolution maker kind of girl. This year I saw the idea of having a word for the year and I really like the thought of having one word, or a theme, to guide me through 2019.
I have thought long and hard about this and decided that my word is focus. The word slow has also been a major contender, so I'm going to break the rules (which is kind of the story of my life😉) and choose two words for 2019.
There are so many ideas and lists swimming around in my head. So many recipes I want to create, so many recipes that I have created that I need to write up and so many things I want to do with my family. The problem is that I have become wildly inefficient since becoming a mom.... I'm trying to balance too many things and I get interrupted too frequently. This is where focus comes in.
I want to have more direct focus to accomplish the goals I have set for myself. My intention is that by having more focus, I will be able to have more quality time when with my two growing - too - fast girls. More focus is also going to allow me more quality time with Mr. Two Sugar Bugs.💗 The word slow is going to guide me by helping me to not pile my plate so full with tasks. I'm working to say "no" more and to not feel guilty about that. By lessening my tasks I will be able to better focus. See? It's all related. Slowing down is also going to allow me to enjoy all the little moments with my family.
I also found this fabulous mom journal that I started using. I feel like life is speeding by and I want to remember all the moments, big and small. Each day gives me one question to answer and for someone who has never been a journal keeper, I love having a prompt! I also got a journal for each of the girls. I'm excited that the girls' journals will be conversation starters and I am so looking forward to seeing how their answers change over the three year time frame.
2019 is going to be a great year!! I have many goals for growing my blog and cannot wait to post more recipes for you. I'm super excited to be sharing my first savory recipe with you later this week!! It's one we make at least three times a month, probably more. I am also working to get you recipes for thick, chewy peanut butter cookies, funfetti cookies and another healthier breakfast muffin.
I'd love to know about YOU!! Do you have a word for 2019? Or did you make a resolution? Please share with me in the comments below.
